Out of sorts Melbourne City will go in search of a confidence-boosting win when they host Brisbane Roar in the opening game of A-League Round 24 at AAMI Park on Friday night.

City v Roar v kicks off at 7.50pm AEST at AAMI Park. The game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports in Australia.

Prediction

Match Preview

Melbourne City have lost their way a little, but they still look just about good enough to secure a top six finish with a win over the struggling Brisbane Roar.

Having beaten Sydney FC for a first win since January the previous week, it was downright ugly when they went down 3-0 to Western Sydney Wanderers last weekend.

City sit in sixth spot, but have the cushion of a seven-point gap to Newcastle Jets with four games to play.

They have a great record against a Brisbane side that doesn’t seem to be able to score away to City. Brisbane’s last three trips to AAMI Park against City have all ended in losses to nil, which is a good value play.

Each of the last four meetings between these sides has been very low scoring and City appears to be the only side that is struggling to score against Brisbane this season with just one goal in two A-League clashes. Expect a narrow win for the hosts.

Match Odds

Melbourne City $1.30
Brisbane Roar $9.00
Draw $5.00
