Heat vs Strikers Tips, Preview & Prediction

After a whirlwind of games to complete the regular season, the fourth-placed Brisbane Heat host the fifth-placed Adelaide Strikers in an elimination final called The Eliminator.

The Heat won their last two matches against the Melbourne Renegades and Perth Scorchers to secure a finals berth. Batting first against the Scorchers, the Heat compiled 7/181 with Chris Lynn and Marnus Labuschagne scoring 51 and 46 respectively.

With ball in hand, the Heat looked home until Mitchell Marsh smashed an unbeaten 54 from 26 balls but it wasn’t enough as the Heat won by six runs. Labuschagne took 3/35 off four with the ball while Mitchell Swepson picked up 2/20 from his four overs.

The Strikers suffered a nine-wicket loss to the Sydney Thunder in a rain-affected match to finish the season.

Adelaide have won the past three matches between the teams, including an 82-run pummelling on January 21 after wicketkeeper Alex Carey scored 101.

Despite a poor record against the Strikers recently, the Heat are clicking and I think they will come out victors from The Eliminator. Lynn and Labuschagne will need to be at their brilliant best to help the Heat either post a large total, or begin a run chase well.

Labuschagne has come back into the team after an excellent Test series against India. His all-rounder status in the Big Bash should see him score more than 40.5 Player Performance points and I think he can score the most runs for the Heat.
