Sixers vs Heat Tips, Preview & Prediction
The Brisbane Heat have turned their season around with three-straight victories. Starting with matches against the Hobart Hurricanes, the Heat won the first by four wickets and then lost by one run. They would then defeat both Sydney teams with the Thunder and Sixers sitting first and second on the ladder.
Brisbane had a rain-interrupted match against the Melbourne Stars in their latest match but they still walked away with victory.
In their first encounter, the Heat were able to win by four wickets with seven balls remaining. Player of the Match, Mark Steketee, captured 4/33 from his four overs as the Sixers reached 8/165. In reply, Max Bryant top scored with 40 and Lewis Gregory made 31 not out from 16 balls as the Heat finished 6/171 off 18.5 overs.
The batting has been positive with Max Bryant, Chris Lynn, Joe Denly and Joe Burns scoring runs in recent matches.
I will focus on Bryant who continues to get starts for the Heat without going on to score a half century this season. His scores in order from the latest match are 31, 15, 40, 32, 31, 12, 29 and 20. He’s either due to make 50+ runs or he may completely fail with a low score. Happy to back him to score 25 or more in this match as he is seeing them well enough.
Steketee leads the competition along with Tanveer Sangha for the most wickets taken. The pair have taken 15 wickets so far in BBL10. Steketee should be a strong chance to lead the Heat’s bowling attack by taking the most wickets.
While the focus is on two Heat players, I do believe the Sixers will get the job done overall to win the match. They currently sit second with a 5-3 record and won’t want to lose another match as they look to play Finals later in the season.
Josh Philippe has made 266 runs for the season and can help the Sixers post a winning score.
