The Adelaide Strikers defied all of the odds to finish in the fourth spot and in the playoffs, winning their last four matches against the Heat (71 runs), Scorchers (six wickets), Stars (23 runs) and most recently the Sixers (eight wickets).

Something seems to have clicked in the Strikers camp, and it seems to be all coming together. They will also regain Alex Carey and Travis Head from the Ashes squad for this match, which makes it a tough choice for the selectors considering their form.

Although one of the most pleasing aspects to see, is how leader and veteran Peter Siddle finished the home and away season with the most wickets in the tournament.

Meanwhile, the Hobart Hurricanes found it tough going playing two games in back-to-back days. A win against the Renegades secured their spot in the playoffs but was embarrassed last time out against the Stars.

The Stars hit the biggest ever Big Bash League score of all time (273), and despite their best efforts with the bat, it wasn’t enough. However, Ben McDermott continued his good form with the bat, with another half-century.

Despite the Strikers entering the playoffs in the best form that they’ve had this season; I still believe that the Hurricanes will be able to get the job done at the MCG on Friday night.
