Sixers vs Hurricanes Tips, Preview & Prediction
The Sydney Sixers are atop the BBL10 ladder after 12 matches as they play their penultimate match of the regular season. The defending champions have won eight and lost four as they have a four-point lead.
Their opponent is the Hobart Hurricanes who are sixth on the ladder with six wins and six losses.
Both teams look to bounce back from defeats in their last match. The Sixers conceded a BBL record 232 runs with the Thunder led by Alex Hales scoring 110 from 56 balls. It was a valiant effort to finish up 5/186 from 20 overs but the Sixers were never chasing down the mammoth score. Moises Henriques top scored with 56.
The Hurricanes bowled first as the Perth Scorchers finished with 8/179. Nathan Ellis picked up 4/34 from four overs. The Hurricanes could only manage 8/157 with D’Arcy Short scoring 43.
Both teams kicked off the BBL10 tournament on December 10 which saw the Hurricanes win by 16 runs. Tim David and Colin Ingram both scored half centuries for the Hurricanes while James Vince scored 67 runs for the Sixers.
The Hurricanes have lost four of their last five matches and run the risk of missing out on finals. I think they will get back into the winner’s column here with Matthew Wade back for the Hurricanes. He failed against the Scorchers but should bounce back quickly to get amongst the runs.
James Vince top scored last time against the Hurricanes and comes off 38 against the Thunder. Looks a strong chance to be the top scorer for the Sixers.
