Scorchers vs Renegades Preview & Prediction

The Perth Scorchers are on top of the BBL standings with a perfect record of five wins. They meet a team that is all too familiar with the bottom of the table as the Melbourne Renegades have a 1-3 record to kick off their season.

Both teams met on December 22 as the Scorchers were 21-run victors.

Mitch Marsh led the way for Perth with 86 from 53 balls and Laurie Evans smashed an unbeaten 42 from just 16 balls.

Aaron Finch and Nic Maddinson were impressive with 68 and 67 respectively but the target of 207 proved too much with the Renegades finishing 5/185 from their 20 overs.

Perth has had Melbourne’s number in recent matches, winning four of the past five clashes.

Marsh is doing it with both bat and ball which is a scary proposition for the Renegades.

It could be a long night again for the Renegades bowlers if the likes of Marsh, Cameron Bancroft, Colin Munro and Josh Inglis get a hold of them in the first 10 overs.

The Perth bowling attack is quality in this format of the game with Andrew (AJ) Tye, Jason Behrendorff, Tymal Mills and Ashton Agar the leading bowlers for the side.

We expect the Scorchers to prove too hot to handle once more.
