Heat vs Stars Tips, Preview & Prediction
The Brisbane Heat are full of confidence with back-to-back wins. They defeated the reigning champion Sydney Sixers by four wickets before knocking off the Sydney Thunder by five wickets.
Both Sydney teams are first and second on the ladder which makes both victories even more impressive. In their latest game against the Thunder, there were positive signs with Chris Lynn (30 runs), Joe Denly (50) and Joe Burns (52) adding plenty of depth and experience to the top order.
The Melbourne Stars come off a 10-run win over the Hobart Hurricanes. Marcus Stoinis smashed 97 not out from 55 balls to guide the Stars to 6/183. The Hurricanes finished up 6/173 with Sam Rainbird the best Stars bowler with figures of 2/22.
In their first clash this season, the Stars defeated the Heat by six wickets with 17 balls remaining. The Heat were bowled out for 125 runs with Nathan Coulter-Nile picking up 4/10. Coulter-Nile is currently injured so won’t play against the Heat this time around.
The Stars currently sit fifth on the BBL10 table with three wins and three losses. If both Glenn Maxwell and Stoinis can fire for the Stars with the bat, they are going to prove hard to beat.
Maxwell has made scores of 71*, 70 and 46 this season in the Big Bash. I fancy that he can score more than 42.5 Player Performance points as he is an excellent fielder capable of taking brilliant catches and he will bowl a few overs to compliment his strongest asset which is his batting.
Englishman Joe Denly is a welcome addition to the Heat with scores of 19 and 50 so far. He looks value to top score for the Heat.
