Thunder vs Heat Tips, Preview & Prediction
It is win or go home time for both teams as the Sydney Thunder and Brisbane Heat clash. The teams have taken turns to win against one another in the last five matches with the Heat winning on January 4.
Thunder batted first posting 8/174 from their 20 overs with Alex Hales top scoring with 46. A number of starts were not converted in that match. In reply, the Heat chased down the total with five balls left and five wickets in hand. Joe Burns scored 52 and Joe Denly made 30.
Hales leads the tournament for the most runs and he is the valuable wicket that the Heat need to take early. If Hales makes a big score, it could be game over for the Heat. In the last match against the Strikers, Hales and Callum Ferguson were both unbeaten with 63 and 46 respectively.
The Heat also defeated the Strikers in their most recent match with Jimmy Peirson top scoring with 47 not out. Marnus Labuschagne and Mitchell Swepson claimed 3/13 and 2/23 respectively.
This match feels like a coin-flip and the Heat have won their past two matches, as well as their last encounter against the Thunder. Therefore, the value lies with the Heat who are underdogs for the match.
Marnus Labuschagne has divided fans with his over-the-top theatrics according to some scribes. He is playing in stellar form, whether that is with the bat and/or ball. From the last two matches, Labuschagne has picked up three wickets in each. He has also made 49 and 46 for the Heat in four matches. He can score more than 43.5 Player Performance points.
Looking for the best value, fellow Heat spinner Mitchell Swepson has had a very good season for Queensland, Australia and now the Heat. Looks a good price to take the most wickets for the Heat.
