Australia vs Bangladesh Match Prediction & Preview
Australia and Bangladesh are set to clash again on Thursday when they meet at the Dubai International Stadium.
Justin Langer’s side was embarrassed against their arch-rivals England in their last encounter, losing by eight wickets, severely damaging their net run rate. They were bowled out for 125 and weren’t able to control Jos Buttler as he tolled 71 runs.
The Australians will need a better effort from their damaging middle order than they’ve given so far this tournament. Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis only combined for a total of seven runs against England.
Similarly, Bangladesh was also put to the sword in their last match of the competition against South Africa. Russell Domingo’s outfit was bowled out for a mere 84.
Their optimistic ambitions for this tournament were faded rather quickly. Despite having a good recent T20 record against Australia, they’ve failed to win a match so far in this tournament but will still be keen to spoil the Australian party.
Although Australia is the heavy favourites for Thursday’s tie with Bangladesh, I wouldn’t put it past Bangladesh to achieve an unlikely result. However, I’ll still back Australia to get a crucial two points and net run rate booster.
