England and Bangladesh are set to clash heads on Wednesday when they battle it out at the Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Chris Silverwood’s side put out a stern warning to the rest of the tournament, after bowling the West Indies out for just 55 runs. Adil Rashid created an impeccable four wickets for just two runs from 2.2 overs

They proved themselves as the best Twenty20 nation in the world, and they didn’t even have to showcase their high run-scoring batting capabilities. The number one batsmen in the world, Dawid Malan, didn’t even have to reach the crease in the first match. However, I suspect it will be Jos Buttler who has the best tournament for England with the bat.

Meanwhile, whilst Bangladesh posted a competitive score of 171, it wasn’t enough to get the win against Sri Lanka in the first game of their campaign. Losing matches like that in such a tough group will make it very difficult to progress to the knockouts.

They did have the best net run rate of their World Cup qualifying group, to only finish behind Scotland to book their spot in this year’s World Cup. However, they showcased some of their bowling versatility, bowling seven bowlers in their loss to Sri Lanka.

I suspect it will be a learning experience for Bangladesh against the best Twenty20 opponents in the world. So, I believe it’ll be England to cruise to victory.
