England head into their first match of the campaign in good spirits in two impressive displays in their warm-up matches. Although they lost to India, they posted a score of 188 and the big question will be whether they have the bowling depth to restrict top quality opposition.

Chris Silverwood’s side head into the tournament as second favourites behind India, with good merit. According to the ICC Rankings, England currently hold the number one ranking of any nation in the short format.

Meanwhile, the West Indies didn’t fare to well in their practice matches. Losing comfortably to Pakistan and Afghanistan, failing to score above 140 runs in either match.

However, it’s the unpredictability and ability with both the bat and the ball that they possess, which makes them one of the most dangerous Twenty20 sides in the tournament.

England have won the three previous meetings in the short format against the West Indies, and I believe that trend will continue on Saturday night.
