Manchester Originals vs Welsh Fire, women

The Originals will aim to bounce back from their humbling defeat to Trent Rockets last week. Chasing a modest target of 120 — thanks in large part to Deandra Dottin’s bowling — the Manchester franchise were bowled out for 76 as King tore the heart out of their chase with a fine hat-trick — leaving them 45-7. It’s a battle at the bottom next, and a good chance to get their Hundred campaign under way as the Originals face last year’s bottom side Welsh Fire.

Manchester Originals vs Welsh Fire, men

Two sides aiming to end a miserable sequence, Manchester Originals and Wlesh Fire have racked up a combined six defeats out of six in this year’s Hundred. The Originals can count themselves unfortunate having seen an impressive total of 189 chased down by Trent Rockets last time out. Their impressive batting unit delivered the goods in that one, with Jos Buttler and Phil Salt hitting standout knocks, and should give the Originals the edge when they face Welsh Fire.

Trent Rockets vs Oval Invincibles, women

The defending champions were beaten by Southern Brave in what was a repeat of the 2021 final last week. The Invincibles were without Dane van Niekerk (dropped) and Alice Capsey (ankle) as they failed to chase down Southern Brave’s 153. Both could be back for the meeting with the Rockets, who made a winning start to the campaign despite missing captain Nat Sciver. Invincibles should have too much for the hosts as they bid to get back to winning ways.

Trent Rockets vs Oval Invincibles, men

The Oval Invincibles look in decent nick despite a narrow defeat in their opener. Will Jacks smashed the second century of the Hundred as he smashed an unbeaten 108 to lead the Invincibles to a comprehensive victory over the defending champions. Jacks hit eight sixes as he powered the Invincibles to a third straight win, despite Jason Roy falling to a third duck in four innings. Perhaps the sternest test of their campaign comes next, with the Rockets in impressive shape and boasting one of the finest batting units in the competition.
