SAS Australia will premiere for its first season on Channel 7 on Monday, October 19.
Aussie celebs will compete in a series of both physical and psychological tests from the real SAS selection process.
Unlike most reality TV shows, this one does not have any prizes with contestants eating, sleeping and training together as they face harsh conditions. Only the toughest will make it to the end of the season as they endure a combination of physical endurance, sleep deprivation, interrogation and psychological testing.
Channel 7 has expressed that the show is completely unscripted and 100% real.
A total of 17 people has been confirmed to appear on the show. There is a wide range of celebrities competing ranging from comedian Merrick Watts to retired Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson and world champion swimmer James Magnussen.
One of the more interesting additions to the season is Schapelle Corby who served nine years in prison after being convicted for smuggling drugs into Indonesia.
There is currently a market on which contestants will complete the whole SAS season. For the bet to be successful, the contestant must make it to and complete the end of final episode.
Contestants that have been eliminated are:
- Roxy Jacenko
- Arabella Del Busso
- Schapelle Corby
- Mitchell Johnson
