Dubai Desert Classic Tips and Preview

Gary Emmerson:

The European Tour moves to Dubai for the Dubai Desert Classic this week at Emirates Golf Club and two of the Spanish stars are the ones to be focusing on at each-way prices.

Sergio Garcia and Rafael Cabrera-Bello both have their names on the roll of honour of the event and shape as value chances at the Emirates Golf Club.

Garcia won the title in 2017 to become the fifth different Spanish winner of the Dubai Desert Classic, and was third in last year’s edition. He arrives in a positive frame of mind after starting his season with an eighth place finish at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship last weekend.

The putter wasn’t hot for Garcia in Abu Dhabi, but it was still a positive performance on what was his first appearance as a free agent using a mixed bag having split from using Callaway golf equipment.

There could be more to come and he is worth siding each-way at $21.

Cabrera-Bello should also expect a big week after starting his campaign with a 12th place finish at Abu Dhabi Golf Club. He won in 2012 and was runner-up to Danny Willett four years later in this event.

Cabrera-Bello clearly has a liking for the conditions and at $31 you should get a run for your money each-way.
