Melbourne Cup Tips 2018 – 3 stayers to consider in the early market

Australia’s most famous race, the Group 1 Melbourne Cup (3200m), is set to be run at Flemington Racecourse on November 6, 2018, and there are some nice odds to be secured in the all-in market.Finding the winner on the first Tuesday in November is hard enough, let alone trying to find it before the final field and barrier draw has been declared.2018 Melbourne Cup TipsInternational runners play a big part each year, and this year will be no exception with several leading contenders being trained overseas, while the dominance of Darren Weir's stable must also be respected. As well as highlighting a few great chances in the early markets, I’ve hunted down the best Melbourne Cup odds for each horse. Here are our top three:KINGS WILL DREAMThe Darren Weir-trained Kings Will Dream is Caulfield Cup bound, and a slashing performance in that race would certainly see his Melbourne Cup odds slashed. He resumed this campaign with a fast finishing 4th placing in the PB Lawrence Stakes (1400m) before just missing behind stablemate Humidor when 3rd in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m). His dam, Road Harbour, has produced His Excellency who is a winner over three miles and Leg Spinner who has won four races over two miles or further. His sire, Casamento, was a Group 3 winner in France over 2000m, and he has sired multiple winners up to 2000m. Judging by his dominant five-lengths Mornington Cup (2400m) win, Kings Will Dream looks to have inherited plenty of stamina from his dam, and if Weir pushes on to the main event, he’ll be hard to beat. TOP PICKKings Will Dream$15Australia's No. 1 Betting Agency. Excellent Multi Builder and Blackbook features.FLAG OF HONOUR I was really impressed by Flag Of Honour’s most recent win in the Group 3 Irish St Leger Trial Stakes (2800m) where he led throughout, was headed midway down the straight but fought back tenaciously and was going away from them near the line. He carried 56kg in his first win over this trip and then had to carry 58.5kg last start. That’s a massive improvement to carry that much extra weight and still win over that distance, and if he gets in with a winnable weight in the Melbourne Cup – somewhere around 54kg – he could give Aidan O’Brien his first win in the race. BEST VALUEFlag Of Honour$67Australia's No. 1 Betting Agency. Morrison said he made the mistake of running him in Australia prior to the Melbourne Cup which backfired as the horse ran flat in his main target. He appears to be in good form finishing 2nd in the Kergolay – the race he won before coming to Australia last year – and I’m not letting him get under my guard as he returns as a more seasoned stayer this time around. BIG IMPROVER FOR 2018Marmelo$26MAXBET promo code. 2018 Melbourne Cup Tips

International runners play a big part each year, and this year will be no exception with several leading contenders being trained overseas, while the dominance of Darren Weir’s stable must also be respected.

As well as highlighting a few great chances in the early markets, I’ve hunted down the best Melbourne Cup odds for each horse.

Here are our top three:

KINGS WILL DREAM

The Darren Weir-trained Kings Will Dream is Caulfield Cup bound, and a slashing performance in that race would certainly see his Melbourne Cup odds slashed. He resumed this campaign with a fast finishing 4th placing in the PB Lawrence Stakes (1400m) before just missing behind stablemate Humidor when 3rd in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m). MARMELO
