Deiveson Figueiredo vs Brandon Moreno Tips, Predictions & Preview
UFC Flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo will main-event UFC 256 just weeks after an impressive first-round submission win over Alex Perez at UFC 255. The quick back-up won’t be an advantage for either man considering the challenger Brandon Moreno also fought at UFC 255 with a first-round TKO win against Brandon Royval.
Moreno continues to improve as a fighter and enters the fight with four wins and a draw to his name from his last five fights. Moreno has lost five fights in his MMA career but none have been stoppages. However, he hasn’t fought a man like Figueiredo either; the champion has 17 stoppage wins beside his name – nine knockouts and eight submissions.
It has been an incredible 2020 for Figueiredo. Three fights for three stoppage victories and two of them against Joseph Benavidez. He has only been in the Octagon for 519 seconds this year and has successfully claimed the UFC Flyweight Championship and defended it also in that short amount of time.

Moreno is a complete fighter, but Figueiredo could be a little better in all categories and his strength and pressure advantage may prove difficult for Moreno to handle.
Moreno had to settle for a split decision draw in September 2019 before a unanimous decision win over Kai Kara-France at UFC 245. Moreno then had another decision victory, this time over Jussier Formiga who is the only man to defeat Figueiredo. His last fight was the knockout win over Royval as mentioned earlier.
The champion looks to have a clear advantage over the challenger in most aspects. Not only do you have to worry about the knockout power of Figueiredo who can hurt you at any moment, but he can also perform several different submissions which makes it dangerous if you give him your neck or arm.
Figueiredo can assert his dominance over the division by winning again and then we may be able to see former champion Henry Cejudo come out of retirement to challenge Figueiredo in an epic clash.
UFC 256: Figueiredo vs Moreno Main Card Predictions
The co-main event sees Tony Ferguson fighting against Charles Oliveira and Ferguson looks dangerous as he looks to bounce back from a knockout loss against Justin Gaethje who won the interim UFC Lightweight Championship in that bout.
