Uriah Hall vs Anderson Silva

This will be the last fight for UFC legend Anderson “The Spider” Silva who has confirmed that he will hang the gloves up after his bout with Uriah Hall.

Back in the day, Silva was an unstoppable beast atop the Middleweight division, as he put together 16-straight wins inside the Octagon. He has beaten some of the biggest names in the industry but on July 6, 2013, things came crashing down for the man that enjoyed to showboat. Chris Weidman landed a knockout punch and things were never the same again after UFC 162.

In December 2013, Silva suffered a horrific broken leg while throwing a kick. He returned 13 months later with a decision win over Nick Diaz that later became a ‘No Contest’ due to a failed drug test. Decision losses against Michael Bisping and Daniel Cormier followed suit before he finally managed to claim victory over Derek Brunson in February 2017. This was a controversial victory with most MMA fans believing Brunson should have won 29-28.

Silva then lost against current champion Israel Adesanya before a first-round loss against Jared Cannonier in May 2019.

Every fight continues to show a man that is a shadow of his former self, which is understandable at the age of 45. Will “The Spider” enjoy a final victory and record win 35 on his way to completing his Hall of Fame career?

Uriah Hall stands in his way as he looks to deliver an 11th career loss to Silva. Hall has had a mixed career in the UFC. His brutal finishing power caught people’s attention on The Ultimate Fighter, but he lost the final to Kelvin Gastelum. At his next fight, he suffered another split decision loss as John Howard got the better of him.

Hall would rebound with three-straight wins, but it has been a rollercoaster since then. His last 10 fights have seen him finish with five wins and five losses. Most of his wins have been against underwhelming opposition and he has suffered three TKO defeats.

It is hard to imagine Hall will come out swinging and destroy Silva. There is some chance he will fight like Adesanya, showing the former champion a lot of respect. The 36-year-old should be able to outwork Silva throughout the fight in order to win via decision. This hardly looks like a fight that will be remembered fondly once the dust has settled, but Hall can claim an important win to maintain his spot in the top 10 of the Middleweight division.
