Dragons vs Raiders Preview and Prediction

After falling in a tight clash to the Roosters last week, Canberra face a big uphill battle to break their way into the top four, but regardless, they will be determined to bounce back immediately in this game against the struggling Dragons.

Another loss will almost certainly condemn the Raiders to an elimination final, but even if they win their three remaining fixtures, they need to rely on the Roosters slipping up.

Hell bent on going one step further than last seasonโ€™s Grand Final appearance, the Raiders have been fairly steady all season, but I always wonder if they are premiership material without Josh Hodgson.

One thingโ€™s for sure – Canberra are in need of a statement victory before the finals and what better way to get it than against a Dragons side that have nothing to play for.

St George Illawarra have been extremely disappointing over the last fortnight after having an outside shot at the finals, losing to teams below them on the ladder in the Titans and Cowboys.

Their golden point defeat to North Queensland was particularly disappointing given the Cowboys were on a nine-match losing run.

As a result, the Dragons are out of the finals race and are playing for pride – and perhaps to impress new coach Anthony Griffin.

But really, this should be a convincing win for Canberra. Ricky Stuart will demand a response from last week and he will likely get it against a Dragons side that has also lost four of their last five games at WIN Stadium.
