Warriors vs Bulldogs Preview and Prediction

It’s a long shot, but the Warriors can keep on track for an unlikely finals spot if they can topple the last-placed Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon in Redcliffe.

The Warriors looked down and out a few weeks ago after seven straight defeats and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck departing the club early.

However, they’ve turned things around over the last fortnight, edging the Tigers and Sharks by identical 18-16 scores.

Those victories have lifted the Warriors to 16 points and four behind those teams currently in seventh and eighth – can they continue to close the gap on Sunday?

They most certainly should, with the Bulldogs having lost 35 of their last 40 matches dating back to last season and coming into this showdown on a seven-match losing run.

Canterbury also try hard, but they simply don’t have the class or depth to compete week in and week out in the NRL at the moment.

That should change next season with a number of high-profile recruits joining the club, but for now they look set to go winless for the remainder of the year.

After displaying some promising signs in a 32-24 loss to Souths, the Bulldogs have regressed in poor losses to the Sharks, Titans and Tigers over the last three weeks.

VERDICT:

The Warriors have looked a different team over the last couple of weeks – and their defence has improved considerably, leaking just 16 points in their last two games.

If they can keep that same defensive mindset, they should be able to coast to another win over the Dogs, who also shouldn’t be able to score too many points themselves (Best Warriors -8.5 Line odds $1.90 with Sportsbet).
