Bulldogs vs Dragons Preview and Prediction

The Dragons aim to make it back-to-back wins and further cement their spot in the top eight when they meet the struggling Bulldogs on Monday.

St George Illawarra snapped a three-game losing streak in style last week, crushing the Broncos by a 52-24 scoreline.

Matt Dufty was the main man for the Dragons, scoring two tries and creating five try assists. The boom fullback will be relishing the chance to come up against the competition’s last-placed side in this clash.

With four wins from their last five games against the Bulldogs, the Dragons will be confident of earning consecutive victories for the first time since April.

Meanwhile, Canterbury are coming off the bye and will be hoping their second half of the season fares much better than their first.

The Bulldogs have won just one game all season, have lost their last 13 at home and gone down by 13+ margins in their last four at Stadium Australia.

Attack is the main problem for the Dogs – they are averaging just 11 points per game and are the only team not to score 200 points yet this season.

VERDICT:

The Bulldogs simply don’t have enough points in them to compete with most sides in the NRL right now.

The Dragons scored 52 points last week and if Dufty and co. produce a similar effort, there’s no way the Bulldogs can hang with them. In saying that, this could be a low-scoring game due to the Bulldogs inability to score points themselves (Dragons 13+ best odds $1.80 with Sportsbet).
