Sharks vs Titans Preview and Prediction

The Sharks go in search of back-to-back wins for the first time this season when they take their home game to Coffs Harbour to face the Titans on Sunday afternoon.

Cronulla have endured a tumultuous season, winning just three games and controversial sacking popular coach John Morris, but they have cause for optimism heading into this encounter.

Firstly, they will be confident after snapping a six-game losing streak last week against the Dragons, prevailing in a 13-12 golden point thriller.

Secondly, the Sharks have a fantastic recent record against the Titans, winning the last five meetings between the teams.

With Shaun Johnson set to return from a hamstring injury, the Sharks are looking good value to come out on top once again here.

Gold Coast were touted as smokies for the premiership in the pre-season and top eight certainties at the very least, but so far their performances have been extremely underwhelming.

The Titans have lost four of their last six games, with their two wins coming against the lowly Tigers and Bulldogs.

Conceding 20 points against the last-placed Bulldogs is a cause for concern and an indication the Titans’ defence isn’t improving after leaking 188 in their previous five fixtures.

VERDICT:

We don’t believe the Titans deserve favouritism all things considered for this clash. The Sharks (best H2H odds $2.25 with Sportsbet) have won the last five games between the teams and can pull off the ‘upset’ again here.
