Gold Coast Titans vs Penrith Panthers Preview & Prediction

The Panthers go in search of an eighth win on the bounce when they come up against the Titans at Cbus Super Stadium on Saturday.

It’s been another sensational season for the Panthers and they are deserved favourites to make it a historic three-peat of premierships.

Only the Broncos and maybe the Storm at full-strength look capable of challenging the Panthers right now, with Ivan Cleary’s side on track for another minor premiership.

The Panthers did what they needed to do in a 12-point victory on the road over Manly last week, while they welcome back some big name players for this game, including Jarome Luai and Mitch Kenny.

Meanwhile, the Titans are officially out of the finals hunt after losing six of their last seven games, including a 36-6 thrashing at the hands of the Sharks last week.

Gold Coast fans will be concerned about the floodgates opening here against a rampant Panthers side, while they also could struggle in attack themselves, with Kieran Foran and Tanah Boyd sidelined. Jayden Campbell and Thomas Weaver are the new halves pairing, with Keano Kini moving to fullback.

VERDICT

Always hard to find value in these sorts of games, but we’re liking the Panthers to score Over 32.5 team points.

The Titans are done for the season and their defence can be abysmal at the best of times – they leaked 36 points to the Sharks last week and have conceded 34 to the Storm, 43 vs Broncos, 46 vs Knights, 36 vs Roosters, 32 vs Dragons and 46 vs Rabbitohs throughout this season.

The Panthers put 48 points on the Titans a couple of seasons ago and they could be set for a cricket score if they’re in the mood to make a statement on Saturday (Best Panthers Over 32.5 total team points odds $1.85 with bet365.)
