Tigers vs Titans Preview and Prediction
Both the Tigers and Titans are desperate for the two point as two of the NRL’s most inconsistent sides clash in Campbelltown on Saturday.
The Tigers have lost eight of their last 10 games dating back to last season, but they do bring winning momentum into this encounter after upsetting the Dragons 16-8 last week.
Michael Maguire demanded a response from his side after the Tigers were demolished by 34 points against Manly the previous week – and he got exactly that as his side produced a 10-0 second half blitz to emerge victorious.
However, that win won’t mean much if the Tigers don’t back it up this weekend. The Tigers haven’t won back-to-back games since June last year, which suggests this will be a tall order for them on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Titans have slumped back into old habits and are currently experiencing a worrying three-match losing streak.
Gold Coast have conceded 36 points or more in defeats to the Sea Eagles, Rabbitohs and Broncos, leaking 112 overall in those three games. That’s not going to get you anywhere near finals football if that continues.
One positive for the Titans is that there attack has been on song the last fortnight, with the side scoring a combined 58 points against the Bunnies and Broncos.
The Titans have a good record over the Tigers, winning seven of their last eight and last five in Sydney. If they can tidy up their defence, I’m confident Gold Coast can come out on top against a team that struggles to win in consecutive weeks.

Tommy Talau is out suspended for the Tigers, with Moses Mbye named in the centres and Jacob Liddle joining the bench.
Tino Fa’asuamaleaui returns from suspension in a big boost for the Titans, but Corey Thompson is out for the next eight weeks with an ankle injury. Beau Fermor is the new man in the backline.
