Sea Eagles vs Bulldogs Preview and Prediction

Manly will be aiming for another big win over the lowly Bulldogs when the two sides square off on Sunday afternoon at Moreton Daily Stadium.

The Sea Eagles have fond memories of the last time these two teams played each other – just last month when Des Hasler orchestrated a 66-0 crushing of his former side.

Tom Trbojevic and Jason Saab scored hat-tricks in that clash, while Reuben Garrick also crossed for a double.

Trbojevic, Saab and Garrick have combined for 59 tries for the Sea Eagles this season and they will be relishing the chance to add to their tallies on Sunday.

Tommy Turbo is back after missing Manly’s one-point win over the Raiders last week, with the Sea Eagles recovering from a 12-0 deficit to keep their top four chances alive.

If the Roosters lose against the Rabbitohs, the Sea Eagles will have the opportunity to move into fourth spot with one round remaining, so they have plenty of incentive to come out all guns blazing here.

Meanwhile, the Dogs have been condemned to the wooden spoon after winning just two of their 22 games so far this season.

Canterbury have tried hard and you can never question their effort, but they simply don’t have the roster to compete at the moment. With several high-profile recruits making their way to Belmore in the off-season, the Bulldogs will be hoping to challenge for the finals in 2021.

For the time being however, it’s looking like the Bulldogs are staring down the barrel of another big defeat at the hands of Manly.

VERDICT:

Canterbury have lost their last 14 games in Queensland and that will extend to 15 on Sunday.

Manly absolutely obliterated the Dogs just over a month ago and with Tommy Turbo fresh after a week off and a top four spot within their grasp, they will be targeting a similar performance.

Anything other than a massive Manly win would be a shock (Best Manly win & over 52.5 points odds $1.80 with Sportsbet).
