Sharks vs Sea Eagles Preview and Prediction

Manly are arguably the side that has the best chance of edging out Penrith and Melbourne for a Grand Final spot and they will aim to continue their top four bid when they meet the Sharks on Sunday.

The Sea Eagles have been flying since their 0-4 start to the season and come into this encounter having won 11 of their last 14 games.

Of course, Manly’s resurgence has come on the back of Tom Trbojevic’s return from injury, with the superstar fullback producing some incredible performances this season.

More often than not, when Turbo plays, Manly win and we expect to see the same outcome when they meet an inconsistent Cronulla side.

The Sharks managed to climb into seventh spot on the ladder following their win over the Bulldogs last week, but it was a far from convincing performance as they leaked 24 points to the last-placed side.

Making matters even more challenging for Cronulla in this clash is that they’ve lost their halves Matt Moylan and Steve Johnson to injury.

With both their playmakers sidelined, it doesn’t look like the Sharks will have enough points in them to hang with the high-flying Sea Eagles.

VERDICT:

Manly have scored 44 points or more in five of their last seven wins and they are on track to do the same in this encounter.

The Sea Eagles have defeated the Sharks in 11 of their last 13 meetings and with Turbo playing and the Sharks without their two halves, we can’t see anything other than a comfortable Manly win playing out here.

We’ll be backing Manly to score plenty of tries and for Turbo to bag himself at least one four-pointer (Best Manly 13+ & Tom Trbojevic anytime tryscorer odds $2.05 with Ladbrokes).
