Knights vs Sea Eagles Preview and Prediction

Manly are absolutely flying heading into this showdown with the struggling Knights and are set to continue their swift pursuit of the top four with another victory on Sunday afternoon.

The Sea Eagles were bottom of the ladder after four rounds, but the return of Tom Trbojevic has seen them surge back to life with six wins from their last seven.

Manly are now sitting pretty in sixth spot on the ladder and just four behinds adrift of the Rabbitohs in fourth.

Des Hasler’s side have turned into the NRL’s resident entertainers, with the team scoring 36 points or more in four of their last six victories, while they produced one of their best performances of the season last week to topple rivals Parramatta 28-6.

Meanwhile, the Knights are in the midst of a worrying fall from grace and have won just two of their last nine games heading into this encounter.

Newcastle simply aren’t a top eight side without Mitchell Pearce and that showed again last week when they were defeated 36-20 by the Cowboys despite North Queensland seeing two of their players sent to the sin bin in the opening half.

The Knight have conceded 36 points or more in their last three defeats and that doesn’t bode well for them coming up against a lethal Manly attack on Sunday.

VERDICT:

Manly should be winning this and winning well (best Manly 13+ odds $1.91 with Sportsbet). The Sea Eagles have been scoring points for fun – including 50 vs the Broncos two weeks back – and are set for another big total against a weak Knights outfit here.
