Storm vs Tigers Preview and Prediction

All of the attention is rightly on the Panthers, but Melbourne will be happy to fly under the radar heading into the finals.

Traditional competition heavyweights for well over a decade now, the Storm have won 11 of their last 12 games, with their only defeat coming against Parramatta when they were missing half of their team due to injury.

Craig Bellamy has unsurprisingly got his team tracking along perfectly ahead of the finals and they are as well positioned as ever for another tilt at the premiership.

Melbourne werenโ€™t close to their best last week, but they still managed to pile 36 points on the Cowboys and I can see them doing the same to the Tigers on Saturday.

The Tigers fought to the bitter end against Souths and almost kept their season alive, but they couldnโ€™t complete the comeback and went down 24-26.

In their nightmare position of ninth with two rounds remaining, itโ€™s another classic case of what could have been for the joint-venture club in 2020.

Interestingly, the Tigers have troubled Melbourne in their recent meetings, winning two of the last three and only going down by two points in the other.

Their fast-paced style and lack of structure matches up well against the well-drilled Storm, but I donโ€™t think they are going to get close on Saturday.

Melbourne are on a 17-match winning streak in Queensland and are looking as slick as ever. I canโ€™t see the Tigersโ€™ shaky defence keeping them in this for very long.
