Storm vs Wests Tigers Preview and Prediction

Rampant reigning premiers Melbourne look to extend their incredible winning streak to 12 matches when they face the Tigers on the Sunshine Coast on Saturday night.

The Storm have been in phenomenal form all season and will be looking to make it eight wins from eight at Sunshine Coast Stadium in this encounter.

It’s been simply devastating from Melbourne in 2021 – they’ve registered 40+ points on nine occasions, have scored 31 points or more in seven of their last eight games and won 10 of their last 11 by 13+ margins.

It doesn’t get much more dominant than that. Craig Bellamy’s side produced another masterclass last week, crushing the Warriors 42-16 despite missing several of their star players.

Meanwhile, the Tigers failed to win three games in a row for the first time under Michael Maguire as they slumped to a heavy 40-12 defeat to the Eels last week.

The Tigers had won back-to-back games for the first time in 12 months by beating the Dragons and a depleted Panthers side, but they were no match for the Eels, who have become a bogey team in recent seasons.

In hindsight, those victories over the Dragons and Panthers weren’t all that impressive – the Dragons lost to last-placed Canterbury last week and Penrith were missing all their Origin stars.

It certainly doesn’t get any easier for the Tigers as they come up against the reigning premiers this weekend.

VERDICT:

Melbourne are absolutely flying and look unstoppable at the moment. They’re undefeated at Sunshine Coast Stadium and are dominating the NRL right now, winning 10 of their last 11 by 13+ margins.

We can expect another destructive performance from the Storm as they look to pile plenty of points on the Tigers (best Storm win & over 50.5 points odds of $2.10 with Ladbrokes)
