Warriors vs Cowboys Preview & Prediction

The Warriors are aiming for three straight wins and the Cowboys are looking to get back on track when the two teams face off in NRL Round 5 action at Moreton Daily Stadium in the first of two games on Friday night.

After suffering back-to-back defeats against the Dragons and Titans to open the season, the Warriors steadied the ship with victories over the Tigers and Broncos.

It’s probably one of the softest draws any side could hope for over the first month of the campaign, so it was crucial the Warriors got some wins and points on the board to show for it.

The Warriors now have a great chance for three straight triumphs against a Cowboys side who came crashing back down to earth last week.

North Queensland were flying high after their 38-12 win over the Broncos, but they were no match for the Roosters at home last week, going down by 24 points.

In saying that, the Cowboys were unlucky to have three players sin-binned throughout the game, while the Roosters were extra-motivated after their own poor start to the season.

The Cowboys had the best defence in the NRL before that clash, so if they can get back to that level, they will fancy themselves to shut out the Warriors, who haven’t exactly been piling on the points in 2022.

VERDICT:

This is a genuine toss-up, but we’re leaning with the Cowboys.

North Queensland have been strong in defence and showed what they can do in attack against the Broncos when Chad Townsend can lead the side and seize control of the game at halfback.

The Warriors haven’t played any good teams this season, so it’s hard to say how they are really tracking. The last seven meetings have been decided by a 1-12 margin, so another close game looks on the cards and we’re backing the Cowboys to edge it (Best Cowboys win H2H odds $1.91 with bet365.)
