Brisbane Broncos vs Newcastle Knights Preview & Prediction
The Broncos will be aiming to continue their outstanding season when they meet the Knights at Suncorp on Saturday night.
It’s been an excellent start to the season for the Broncos, with Kevin Walters’ side currently second to the Panthers on points differential, winning 10 of their 14 games.
Brisbane have conquered all of the sides that finished in the top four last season and with games against the Knights, Dolphins and Titans to come over the next five weeks, along with two byes, they are well-positioned to mount a challenge for the minor premiership.
Pat Carrigan and Payne Haas are laying the platform through the middle, allowing Adam Reynolds and Ezra Mam to work their magic for the likes of Kotoni Staggs, Herbie Farnworth and Selwyn Cobbo out side.
Meanwhile, the Knights have been in decent form lately, winning two of their last three games against the Titans and Sea Eagles, falling to the Sharks in-between.
Newcastle have a solid team on paper and with Kalyn Ponga back and opting to focus on club footy rather than Origin, they have a solid shot of pushing for a top eight finish.
VERDICT:
However, this is a big challenge for the Knights, especially when you consider they’ve failed to win back-to-back games since the first two rounds of last year.
The Broncos have beaten the very best the NRL has to offer repeatedly this season, so at home, they should be able to take out the Knights in relatively comfortable fashion (Best Broncos -4.5 line & over 34.5 points odds $1.75 with bet365.)
