Knights vs Broncos Preview and Prediction

Despite suffering their first defeat of the season last week against Melbourne, the Knights are still flying high near the top of the ladder, coming into this showdown in fourth spot after five rounds.

However, they will need to be weary of a Broncos side who showed great character against Manly last week following their 59-0 shellacking at the hands of the Roosters.

Adam O’Brien has transformed Newcastle into an extremely steely side, and they threatened to pull off an almighty second-half comeback against Melbourne before falling away late.

Bradman Best has been a revelation in the backline, scoring a try in four of his last six games.

Broncos fans would have been happy with the way their team responded to their thrashing by the Roosters, but ultimately they weren’t able to capitalise on a rather sizeable early lead and ended up being beaten by two points.

Playing their fourth Thursday night fixture on the trot, Brisbane desperately need a win to boost morale and get them heading in the right direction on the table.

Brisbane have won eight of their last 10 matches against Newcastle, but the Knights have won their last two encounters.

I think we will see a close game if Brisbane can compete like they did last week, but the Knights have been ultra-impressive all season and they should be able to dig out another win on Thursday.
