Languishing in the bottom half of the ladder, a crucial two competition points is up for grabs as the Eels welcome the Knights to CommBank Stadium on Friday night.

Both teams have won just three games after eight rounds and need to start trending in the upwards direction as the Origin period approaches.

Parramatta looked to be building some momentum after wins over the Tigers and Bulldogs, but a poor first half performance cost them in a 26-16 loss to the Broncos in Darwin last week.
