Raiders vs Cowboys Preview & Prediction

It’s an important game for the Raiders and Cowboys to even the ledger at 3-3 for the season when they square off in the nation’s capital on Thursday night to kick off a big Easter weekend of NRL.

Both sides are 2-3 to begin the season, with the Raiders coming off back-to-back defeats in Regional NSW against the Sea Eagles and Storm, while the Cowboys have also lost consecutive matches, going down to the Roosters and Warriors.

Canberra have produced their best football at GIO Stadium so far this season, so a return to their home ground will be much welcomed for this one.

Indeed, the Raiders are 2-0 at the venue in 2022, scoring a solid 24-19 win over the Sharks in the opening round before producing a miraculous comeback from 22 points down to edge the Titans in Round 3.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys haven’t been able to build on their thumping win over the Broncos a few weeks ago, losing heavily to the Roosters before last week’s golden point heartbreak against the Warriors.

Consistency is needed for both teams – who will take their first step towards that on Thursday night?

VERDICT:

The Cowboys got the better of the Raiders back in Round 2, but they haven’t travelled way in recent years and Canberra are unbeaten at home so far in 2022.

As a result, we’ll be leaning with the Raiders to cover the -4 line as our best bet (Best Raiders -4 line odds $2.00 with Ladbrokes), while it’s also worth noting the last 10 games at GIO Stadium have seen over 42 points.
