Cowboys vs Sea Eagles Preview and Prediction

Both the Sea Eagles and Cowboys will be aiming to maintain their spot inside the top eight when they square off to launch NRL Round 14 action on Friday night at Lottoland.

After starting the season with a 0-4 record, both Manly and North Queensland are positioned in the top eight on an even 6-6 form line heading into Round 14.

Additionally, both sides have won three of their last four games. Manly were on a roll with three crushing 13+ wins over the Warriors, Broncos and Eels before they were stunned by a depleted Knights side.

The Cowboys haven’t been as convincing, defeating the Broncos and Warriors by one points at home, along with a 16-point victory over the Knights, while they lost during Magic Round to the Roosters.

Both sides will also have three players backing up after Origin on Wednesday, with Daly Cherry-Evans and the Trbojevic brothers competing for Manly and Valentine Holmes, Kyle Feldt and Coen Hess returning for the Cowboys.

VERDICT:

This should be a relatively high-scoring game, with the Cowboys seeing over 56 points in their last two games and Manly scoring 36 points or more in four of their last five wins.

If Tom Trbojevic gets through Origin unscathed, then we’re confident Manly will win this. They’ve been the superior team this season, while the Cowboys have struggled on the road this season, winning just one game. We’ll be backing the Sea Eagles to come out on top with plenty of points being scored (Manly win & over 48.5 best odds $2.40 with Sportsbet).
