Obviously the biggest news of Round 1 for the Panthers is Nathan Cleary being ruled out for up to the first three weeks of the year after undergoing shoulder surgery in the off-season.

Sean O’Sullivan steps into the No. 7 jersey to partner Jarome Luai in the halves, with the pair having grown up playing touch footy together at the foot of the mountains.

Matt Burton and Paul Momirovski have both departed the club, along with Brent Naden, meaning the Panthers’ backline looks a little different heading into 2022.
