Panthers vs Raiders Preview & Prediction

It’s the last thing the Raiders want on a three-game losing streak as they prepare to travel to BlueBet Stadium to face flying defending premiers the Panthers on Sunday afternoon.

Although the Raiders were the last team to beat Penrith at BlueBet Stadium back in Round 19, 2019, they are basically no hope of conjuring another upset here.

The Panthers have been outstanding to launch their premiership defence and are the only team to have won all six games to begin the season.

Penrith won their opening three games without Nathan Cleary and have continued to perform upon his return, with their last four victories coming by 13+ margins.

The production line of talent at the foot of the mountains is seemingly endless, with Taylan May and Izack Tago slotting seamlessly into the backline and scoring plenty of tries in the process.

If the Panthers maintain their current level, they win – it’s as simple as that.

Canberra are in a slump with three straight defeats, the last of which a 18-12 loss at home to the Cowboys that saw them blow another double-digit lead.

Ricky Stuart gave his team an almighty spray in the post-match press conference – normally we could see a response from the Green Machine, but they are unlikely to offer much resistance away to the undefeated Panthers.

VERDICT:

Penrith win this and most likely win it comfortably.

We’ll back the unders for some value in the assumption that the Panthers’ defence will limit Canberra to minimal points (Best Under 40.5 total points odds $1.90 with Neds.)
