Samoa were touted as genuine World Cup title contenders before the tournament, but they were brought crashing back down to earth after suffering a crushing 60-6 loss to England in their opening match.

To make matters worse for Samoa, they lost Hamiso Tabu-Fidow, Braden Hamlin-Uele and Tyrone May to injuries that have spelled the end of their respective World Cups.

Additionally, Anthony Milford is suspended for this match, forcing a reshuffle of the halves, with Fa’amanu Brown set to partner Jarome Luai.

Obviously Samoa will win this match against the Greeks, but they were extremely poor against England and perhaps thought things were going to come a little easier.

All of their Penrith Grand Final winning stars looked flat, so perhaps a bit of fatigue is a factor in the squad too.

Greece were no match for France in their World Cup debut, but they managed to score two tries and didn’t disgrace themselves in a 34-12 defeat.

Rabbitohs halfback Lachlan Ilias will be looking for a big game and after the Samoas leaked 60 points in their opener, he will be confident of orchestrating some points for the Greeks.

VERDICT:

Samoa will win, but given their performance against England, we can’t back them to cover the -51.5 line.
