Titans vs Rabbitohs Preview & Prediction

South Sydney look to continue their recent dominance over the Titans when the two sides square off on Saturday afternoon in NRL Round 14 action.

The Rabbitohs have won the last six games between the sides, with the Titans last registering a win over Souths in normal time all the way back in 2014. The Bunnies have scored 30+ points in the last three meetings and with the way Gold Coast are defending at the moment, they are every chance to eclipse that total again.

Gold Coast are a club in shambles right now – they’ve lost seven of their last eight games, defeating only the Dragons in that period, while they have conceded a whopping 152 points in their last five outings.

After making the finals last season, the Titans were expected to build on that performance in 2022, but instead they’ve reverted to old habits and taken a giant leap backwards.

The Titans were toothless at home last week, going down 32-6 to a Cowboys team missing four of their best players – and to make matters worse, Jayden Campbell suffered a hamstring injury that could keep him sidelined for up to two months.

Meanwhile, the Rabbitohs are yet to hit their straps so far this season, but they are 6-6 and have the ability to go on a run in the second half of the campaign when Latrell Mitchell returns to action.

Souths enjoyed the bye last week, with their last match resulting in a big 44-18 win over the Tigers, highlighting just how dangerous they can be when combinations click.

If Cody Walker, Alex Johnston, Campbell Graham and Damien Cook (backing up from Origin permitting) can all fire, then Souths will fancy their chances of racking up a big score on the Gold Coast.

VERDICT:

Souths have dominated this H2H over the last few years and there’s no reason to believe anything will change on Saturday.

The Titans have lost seven of their last eight and have conceded 30+ points in four of their last six losses, while the Rabbitohs piled 44 points on the Tigers in their last outing and have scored 30+ points in their last three wins over Gold Coast. A big win for the Rabbitohs with plenty of points seems the best bet for this one (Best Rabbitohs -6.5 line odds $1.91 with bet365.)
