Wests Tigers vs South Sydney Rabbitohs Preview & Prediction
It’s a must-win game for the Rabbitohs when they meet the last-placed Tigers in Tamworth on Friday night.
After a blistering start to the season, the Rabbitohs have struggled over the last couple of months, winning just two of their last eight games.
Unsurprisingly, the Bunnies’ poor form has coincided with Latrell Mitchell’s calf injury, which has sidelined him since Round 12.
With Latrell back and one of their strongest teams selected since the start of the season, Souths will be looking to put a big score on the lowly Tigers.
It’s been another nightmare campaign for the Tigers, who come into this encounter on the back of seven straight defeats and just three wins from 18 games for the season.
The Tigers have leaked 34+ points in three of their last four defeats, including that embarrassing 74-0 loss to the Cowboys in Townsville.
Luke Brooks and Api Koroisau are back together in the spine, so Tigers fans will be hoping for a better attacking effort this week.
VERDICT
This has to be the game where Souths make a statement if they are to firstly even make the top eight, let alone challenge for the premiership.
The Tigers have conceded 30 tries in their last four games, leaking 34+ points in three of them. With Latrell back and Campbell Graham firing, the Rabbitohs should be scoring plenty of points. In two of their last three wins over the Tigers, the Bunnies have scored 44 & 38 points, so I’m expecting another big total here (Best Rabbitohs Over 34.5 total team points odds $1.90 with bet365.)
