Wests Tigers vs Rabbitohs Preview and Prediction

South Sydney target their fourth straight win over Wests Tigers when the two sides do battle at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday afternoon.

The Rabbitohs have been going along nicely all season and head into this clash in fourth spot on the ladder on the back of a three-match winning streak.

Wayne Bennett’s side have won their last 12 matches as favourites and have accounted for every team they’ve faced below them on the ladder this season.

Only last season’s grand finalists and current top two Melbourne and Penrith have conquered the Bunnies in 2021 and Souths will be confident of extending that trend on Sunday.

The Tigers have been absolutely horrendous in their last two games before last week’s bye, conceding 106 points in a 40-12 loss to the Eels and 66-16 hammering to the Storm.

Attitude, defence, attack, discipline and basically every other aspect of football was absent in the crushing defeat to Melbourne and Michael Maguire will demand a response from his side here.

However, the bad news for the Tigers is they’re coming up against another heavyweight side and they won’t even have their usual boisterous home support in the stands at Leichhardt.

VERDICT:

Souths have won 12 matches in a row as favourite and they’ll likely extend that streak in this clash against a Tigers side who have leaked 106 points in their last two defeats.

The Rabbitohs crushed Brisbane 46-0 in their last outing and they will be looking to pile on the points once more against another of the NRL’s struggling sides (best Souths win & over 53.5 points odds $2.00 with Ladbrokes)
