Roosters vs Sharks Preview and Prediction

The Roosters won their first game since losing Luke Keary to a season-ending knee injury last week and they’ll be confident of doubling down on that victory this weekend against the Sharks at the SCG.

With a five-match winning streak over the Sharks, the Roosters know what they have to do in order to get the job done here. Additionally, the Sharks have seen the favourite win in 17 of their last 18 matches.

That means Cronulla are very good at beating those below them on the ladder, but when they come up against top-tier opposition, they usually fall short.

The Sharks have lost to the Eels and Raiders so far this season – two premiership contenders – but have beaten the Dragons and crushed the Cowboys 48-10 in their last outing.

Will Kennedy has been a stand-out for the Sharks at fullback, scoring five tries in his four matches to start the season.

However, he comes up against the best fullback in the game on Saturday night, with James Tedesco scoring seven tries, along with making 25 tackle breaks – the third best in the NRL.

Despite the loss of Keary, the Roosters still have a world class backline and solid forward pack – and they will be confident after dispatching the Warriors last week.

The Sharks haven’t won at the SCG in over 30 years and taking their record against top eight teams into consideration, the Roosters should be heading for back-to-back victories here.
