Parramatta Eels vs Sydney Roosters Preview & Prediction
It’s massive game for the Eels and Roosters as the two teams look to keep their finals hopes alive on Friday night.
Level on 26 points with three rounds remaining, the Eels and Roosters simply need to keep winning and hope other results fall their way.
Parramatta are perhaps in a more dire predicament – they’ve lost star halfback Mitch Moses for the season, although they do have a guaranteed two points from the bye in the final round. Win this game and they will give themselves a chance.
However, the Eels have been poor over the last month or so, losing three of their last four games, including leaking 46 and 54 points to the Storm and Broncos. In their one win, the Eels barely managed to get over the lowly Dragons at home, which doesn’t bode well.
Meanwhile, the Roosters haven’t been able to get going all season, but things might finally be starting to click when it matters most.
The Roosters have won three of their last four games and their attack is improving, scoring 26+ points in those three victories.
If the Roosters keep winning, a final round clash with old rivals the Rabbitohs could potentially decide who sneaks into the top eight.
VERDICT
Can’t back the Eels on current form without Moses. Dylan Brown isn’t really a leader in the halves and he’s missed a lot of footy this season, so can see the Eels struggling for points here.
The Roosters are starting to build some momentum and have won three of their last four meetings with the Eels. Feels like their time to shine and set up a huge last two games of the season (Best Roosters win H2H odds $1.60 with bet365.)
