Adelaide United attempt to snap a four-match losing streak when they renew their rivalry with Melbourne Victory in the pick of A-League Round 15 matches this weekend.

It’s been a poor last month for Adelaide, with the club slipping from the top four to seventh on the back of four straight defeats, including a 3-0 scoreline away to Perth. They will be looking to return to the winners circle when they face Melbourne Victory, who’s encouraging run of form was snapped as they lost 3-2 to the Mariners in Round 14.

Wellington Phoenix, unbeaten since Round 4, look to continue their sensational form when they take on Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium in the first game on Saturday. Phoenix eased to a 2-0 win over the Wanderers last week, while Brisbane picked up a point as they drew 2-2 at home to Melbourne City.

Melbourne City, now 11 points behind competition leaders Sydney FC, will be out to claim all three points when they meet the struggling Newcastle Jets in the second game on Saturday at AAMI Park. The Jets put in an improved performance in falling 2-1 to Sydney in their first game since sacking Ernie Merrick on Friday night.

Western United are back in action after last week’s bye and run into a confident Central Coast Mariners outfit on Sunday in Geelong. The Mariners maintained pace with the top six after a thrilling comeback win over Melbourne Victory on Sunday, with Matt Simon scoring twice in injury time to propel his side to all three points.

Round 15 concludes at Bankwest Stadium as the Western Sydney Wanderers take on Perth Glory on Sunday night. The Wanderers’ miserable run of form continued with a 2-0 loss to Wellington last week, while Perth are one of the form teams in the competition, cementing third spot on the ladder with a big win over Adelaide.
