Back in form and with second spot in their sights, Adelaide look to continue their winning momentum when they come up against Brisbane on Saturday.

After a difficult period, Adelaide are back to their best, bringing a three-game winning streak into this showdown, completing a trio of victories over Melbourne teams, beating Melbourne Victory 1-0, Western United 4-3 and Melbourne City 3-1.

That run of form has propelled Adelaide to 24 points and level on fourth spot with Wellington, but more importantly, they are only three points off City in second place after conquering them last weekend.

Brisbane’s four-game unbeaten run came to an end at the hands of runaway leaders Sydney FC last week, but Robbie Fowler’s side have been playing the kind of football that is deserving of a finals spot over the last month.

After beating the Mariners a fortnight ago, Brisbane are on the verge of completing consecutive home wins for the first time since 2018 if they can topple Adelaide.

However, Brisbane have a poor recent record against the Reds, losing their last four encounters. Both sides come into this contest in good form, so a share of the spoils could be on the cards on Saturday night.
