Coming into this game on the back of a six-match winless run, Victory simply need all three points if they are to conjure up a miracle run to the finals.

It’s been a nightmare season for the A-League juggernauts, with Victory never really getting going at any stage of the campaign.

Languishing in ninth spot after last week’s 1-1 draw with the struggling Newcastle Jets, Victory are nine points adrift of sixth heading into Round 21.

Do or die football is officially here for Victory – and they must snap a four-match losing run against their opponents on Saturday if they are to emerge triumphant.

Adelaide have dominated Victory in their recent meetings, including 3-1 and 1-0 wins earlier this season.

The Reds haven’t always been at the peak of their powers, but they’ve consistently hung around the 4-6 positions on the ladder and appear set for another crack at finals football.

However, Adelaide will be hoping to improve considerably from their last outing when they were on the receiving end of a 5-2 thumping to the Wanderers.

I keep waiting for Victory to turn it on this season, but every week they seemingly hit a new low. I’m not sure Adelaide are playing good enough to take advantage though, so we might see a share of the spoils on Saturday night.
