Western Sydney Wanderers vs Perth Glory Preview & Prediction
Perth Glory will be hoping to snap a three-game winless run when they take on the Western Sydney Wanderers at Bankwest on Friday night.
Glory come into this clash on the back of a 2-1 loss to the Mariners and 3-0 defeat to Wellington, but they managed to change their fortunes around slightly last weekend when they held league leaders Central Coast to a 2-2 draw in Gosford.
Bruno Fornaroli scored his seven goal of the season, while Nick D’Agostino also found the back of the net. Perth have been in very impressive attacking form all season and have scored at least one goal in eight of their nine games.
They are however languishing in ninth spot on the ladder (albeit having played less games than every other side), so they will want to return to the winners circle sooner rather than later.
Meanwhile, the Wanderers are up to second on the table after posting back-to-back victories over Western United and Wellington Phoenix.
Western Sydney’s 4-3 triumph over Wellington was arguably the match of the season to date as Jordon Mutch got on the scoresheet for the second game running, while Daniel Wilmering, Mitch Duke and Kwame Yeboah also fired home.
The Wanderers are experiencing a nice patch of form at the moment, but now they come up against their bogey side in Perth.
Glory continue to implement an attacking brand of football and that could be effective against a team that shipped three goals against Wellington.
Perth have had the wood over the Wanderers over the last few seasons and I think they are decent value to prevail again here.
