PSG vs Leipzig Preview and Prediction

PSG and Leipzig have a fantastic chance to advance into a maiden Champions League final when they collide in the semi-finals on Wednesday morning AEST.

Both sides progressed to the final four in dramatic circumstances and by 2-1 scoreline with late winners.

PSG became just the fourth team in Champions League history to win a game after entering the 90th minute in a losing position, with Marquinhos and Eric Choupo-Moting netting injury-time goals to edge out Atalanta.

Meanwhile, Leipzig secured their spot in the semis after substitute Tyler Adams fired home an 88th minute winner against Atletico.

The win followed a 4-0 aggregate thumping of Tottenham in the R16, but Leipzig have to make-do without striker Timo Werner, who has left the club to join Chelsea in the Premier League.

The main man for the German juggernauts is Austrian star Marcel Sabitzer, who has been involved in six Champions League goals this season, scoring four and assisting two, including Dani Olmo’s opener against Atletico.

PSG manager Thomas Tuchel will almost certainly hand a start to Kylian Mbappe, who came off the bench for 30 minutes against Atalanta after recovering from an ankle injury and will be better for the run.

Angel Di Maria is also back from suspension for the French side, but Keylar Navas is out after injuring his hamstring, with Sergio Rico coming in as his replacement.

It’s the biggest game in the history of both clubs, but I give the edge to PSG. The French champions have more firepower at their disposal and this is the competition they crave. It should be an entertaining game with plenty of goals, but PSG are the deserved favourites.
