French juggernauts Lyon and German champions Bayern collide in the Champions League for the first time in a decade on Thursday morning AEST, with the winner to advance into the final against PSG.

Lyon have already pulled off a couple of seismic upsets in order to reach their first semi-final since 2010, conquering Juventus over two legs before a lethal and late counter-attacking display handed them a 3-1 win over Man City last weekend.

Boom Canadian youngster Alphonso Davies has rapidly transformed into one of the world’s leading fullbacks, while veterans Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller are scoring goals for fun.

It’s almost impossible to go against Bayern after their blitz of Barcelona. They’ve lost their last four Champions League semi-final ties, but this is a fantastic chance to snap that streak – and I get the feeling Lyon have already played their finals against Juve and City.
