Betting on the World Cup is huge and the 2022 finals will be no different. Backing the winning nation is just one of the number of ways you can punt throughout the 2022 World Cup and the opportunity to bet on soccer has never been greater.
A rundown of some of the types of bets you can place on outright and tournament bets on the World Cup is below:
World Cup Winner: Back the team you think will be crowned champions by winning the World Cup Final. You can bet on this market before the World Cup qualifying gets underway and throughout the tournament as odds fluctuate from round to round. This is a popular selection in soccer multibet tips.
Name The Finalists or To Reach The Final: Get some extra value on your tournament winner selection by combining them with another team in the Name The Finalists markets. Your two selection will need to contest the World Cup Final for your bet to be a winning one. Alternatively, you can add some insurance to your predictions for the tournament winner by backing a team in the To Reach The Final market. If your team make it to the decider, you will win regardless of the outcome of the final itself.
Group Winners: Once the group stage draw is done, you can bet on who will win each of the groups (or who will qualify from them). This is a popular market to combine selections into a multi and add to the odds.
World Cup Top Goalscorer: Predict who will finish the competition as the leading goalscorer in the World Cup and be awarded the Golden Boot. Will you go for a big name from one of the leading contenders to win the tournament? Or will one of the unknown quantities who could be this year’s surprise package just like James Rodriguez was in 2014?
Betting on World Cup matches is more varied than ever before with a variety of betting markets available to choose from for each game.
A rundown of some of the types of bets you can place on 2018 World Cup games is below:
Match Betting: Simply back the result, whether you think it will be a home win, an away win or a draw.
Correct Score: Predict the correct score in the game. The odds on getting the score prediction right offers extremely good value.
HalfTime / FullTime: This option allows you to bet on who you think will be leading the game at both halftime and fulltime. There are many possibilities that can occur in any match, particularly as a draw is an option.

Over/Under Total Goals: Bet on whether you think there will be more or less than 2.5 goals in the game. If it ends 1-1, then it is under 2.5 goals. If it ends 3-2, then it is over 2.5 goals. Other totals are available – usually 0.5, 1.5, 3.5 and 4.5.
First Goalscorer / Anytime Goalscorer / Last Goalscorer: Predict who will get the first goal of the game, who will score at any stage during the game or who will get the last goal score during the match. These are three of the most popular markets.
Both Teams To Score: If you think both teams will find the back of the net in the game, then this is the bet for you.
Handicap Betting: Bookmakers offer you the chance to bet on the result of the game but where one team starts with a handicap (usually one or two goals). If you think a team will win, and do so comfortably by sticking several goals past the opposition, this is the option for you to increase the price.
