Croatia weren’t able to repeat their 2018 World Cup campaign heroics, as they were outplayed against Lionel Messi’s Argentina in the semi-final. Argentina scored two goals in the space of five minutes midway through the first-half to all but end the tie by half-time.

The Croatians had been fairly strong defensively up until that point, but the area that they have been lacking in, is their goal-scoring threat. It looks as if it is going to be a battle of two of the strongest defence minded teams at this World Cup, which could need a moment of brilliance or uncharacteristic defensive mistake to break the deadlock. VERDICT:

I believe if you consider Morocco’s injury concerns heading into the match and Croatia’s previous successful history at the World Cup, it could be Croatia’s to lose. Although I wouldn’t count out the defensive workhorses of Morocco. (Best total goals under 2.5 odds @$2 with bet365.)
