Novak Djokovic vs Tennis Sandgren Tips & Predictions
Djokovic once again arrives in Paris with ambitions of keeping his Calendar Year Grand Slam hopes alive after securing the Australian Open, but as always, he will most likely have to get the better of Rafael Nadal in order to take the first two majors of the season.
Djokovic has only won Roland Garros on the one occasion (back in 2016) and was crushed by Nadal in straight sets in last year’s final.
The Serbian has yet to win a title since claiming the Australian Open at the end of February, but he has advanced into the final of Belgrade at the time of writing. Djokovic suffered shock defeats to Dan Evans and Aslan Karatsev in Monte-Carlo and the first Belgrade tournament before choosing to skip Madrid.
The World No. 1 returned in Rome, where he played well to beat Stefanos Tsitsipas before falling to Nadal in three sets in the final.
Djokovic shouldn’t have too much trouble in this opening round clash with Sandgren. The American is 3-6 at tour-level this season and has lost six of his seven matches at all levels on clay leading into the French Open.
Djokovic has also defeated Sandgren in all three of their previous meetings and will almost certainly do so again with minimal fuss (Djokovic win & under 25.5 games best odds of $2.00 with bet365).
