Murray’s tenacity and determination to come back from hip surgery has been inspiring, but unfortunately he’s been handed one of the toughest first round draws imaginable at the US Open as he comes up against Tsitsipas on Monday.

Murray has scored some decent wins since going under the knife, but he’s repeatedly come up short when facing the very best in the world.

Indeed, Murray has only defeated one top 10 player since May 2017 and just two top 20 opponents since October 2019, while he’s only 6-6 at tour-level in 2021, dropping to 114 in the world.

Tsitsipas meanwhile has established himself as a top five player over the last couple of seasons and is seeded third at the US Open this year.
